• Using a humidifier, the irrigation method, the washcloth method, and eating spicy foods can help relieve sinus pressure. Afrin should not be used for more than 3 days.
• Irrigation Method: Add 3 teaspoons of iodide free salt and 1 teaspoon of baking soda to 1 cup of warm water. Place into bulb syringe and rinse out nasal passages.
• Washcloth Method: Place a warm washcloth over your face/sinuses for 2-3 minutes, then switch to a cool washcloth for 30 seconds. Rotate the washcloths 3 times. This is done up to 4 times a day.
• If caused by allergies, avoid allergy triggers such as pollen, animal dander, latex, molds, and fragrances.
• Consuming tea (with honey or lemon) or soup can help with cough and soar throat
• Staying hydrated is recommended in order to thin and clear mucous
• Getting adequate rest
